Auricle Digital uses the most advanced 3D scanning technology in the world to create a digital model of both ears, from past the second bend of the ear canal through to the whole outer ear for use with your custom ear products (excluding hearing aids*).

Why Are Custom Fitted Products Better Or More Important For Your Ears?

An accurate ear canal shape capture reduces the chances of pressure points in products that can be uncomfortable for long term use, these artifacts bend the ear to fit around the product instead of the product fitting around the ear.

A more consistent and even distributed pressure also reduces concentrated friction/pressure points that can create wear or failure points in a product much earlier than intended.

How is this Different?
Custom ear products provide the best opportunity to enhance an ear products performance, however existing impression moulding scale inherit risks.
Impression moulding changes the shape of an ear as:
Impression material pushes on the soft parts of the ear and ear canal creating pressure artifacts.
This leads to custom ear products conforming the ear to distorted uncomfortable shapes. eFit scanning does not place the ear under pressure and more accurately captures ear shapes for crafting the highest performing products.
A study by the US military* connected comfort as being a key to compliance for users who need wear ear products for extended periods. earpieces produced with eFit scanning are more comfortable than earpieces produced with physical impressions, or other competing 3D scanning systems.

Impression moulding risks also include:
An ear canal can also be similar to a cave system where behind a small opening there is a larger chamber, once impression material has set this large chamber space object may need to pass through a smaller passageway in removing the now set material.
Sealing the ear fully creating a pressure chamber placing the ear and its function at risk if not depressurised correctly.
Problems from incorrect insertion and removal of impression materials and otoblocks.

eFit 3D ear scanning introduces additional new safety measures and a addresses traditional risks by removing them completely. This reduces risk to the individuals but also reduces liability so operation of the scanners only requires a safety training certification for an individual operator not specialist medical education.

A single Custom ear product for me
For scans for a single manufacturer $249 inc GST. We send your scan file on your behalf confirming manufacturers have the best scan file that meets their requirements. A scan file can be valid ranging from 3 years up to 8 years.
Many Custom ear products for me
For scans to use with many manufactures scan ownership $399 inc GST. You will receive the .STL file for your use.
Reissuing and upgrading $149 inc gst.
Reissuing a scan file is an additional or Upgrading a scan to own can be done anytime.
We partner with world class brands this includes troubleshooting files and re-scanning if needed, reducing the chances of uncomfortable or incorrect products to avoid unwanted re-making and repeat logistics. To date the Auricle Digital scan processes have achieved over 90% first time scan success resulting in only 1 remake request by a customer - 98% partner manufacturing success.

Auricle Digital can supply a 3D print of your scan for test fitting or for manufacturers who may not be able to receive a .STL, this would be the equivalent of sending an impression. for $199 inc GST.
